Obama, the Art of the Lie …. Hillary Clinton’s UN Gun Ban Treaty

You may recall that during this past summer IN ADVANCE of the Presidential election, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said that some provisions in the pending United Nations treaty banning small arms and ammunition were “too distasteful” in view of the US Constitution’s 2^nd Amendment guarantees to US Citizens and withdrew the US delegation to the United Nations from further talks in July.

Spokespeople for the US delegation said that timing of the US presidential election, in that the treaty might harm Obama’s re-election chances, had nothing to do with the negotiations being delayed.

And it’s only, of course, the wildest of all possible coincidences that within hours of his claiming the presidency, Obama made a late night phone call ordering the US delegation to vote November 7th in favor of passage of the resolution to re-convene and recommence the treaty proposals this March 2013 in New York City.

And just as miraculously coincidental with all of the previously “distasteful” elements attacking the 2^nd Amendment rights of US citizens left intact. Go on, who would have figured the odds of that happening.

With this kind of deceit by Obama and Clinton is it any wonder the internet is rife with these kinds of graphic protests below ?

In the middle of the worst economic downturn since the 30's Obama's Inaugural is likely to exceed previous estimates and is projected to cost a record setting $170 million tax dollars even though The White House had promised events would be trimmed and toned down to reflect the austerity of the times. Aw, golly gee, we had the best of intentions, it just sorta' got away from us!

In contrast Bush's first inauguration ran $42 million and his second about $30 million.  Clinton’s first inaugural was roughly the same as his successor's at $33 million for the first and his second inauguration was $31 million.

As explanation a White House Press Secretary said, “Those Presidents didn’t know how to party.  We do!”    - Obviously, and with great zeal while using other people's money !!!

Inaugural Committee spokeswoman, Linda Douglass tried to justify the amount of money being spent, "The money is going toward providing events which we hope are going to connect people, make them feel like we are all in this together and reinforce the notion that when we pull together, we’re stronger. And we need to pull together to face the challenges that are before us today.”

And you just had to throw tons of treasury at the wistful "hope" of this "pull together kumbayah" moment producing anything tangible in overcoming our problems ? What a load of typical Administration BS ! You wanted a big damn blowout party, and so you had one regardless of the impropriety and cost, which as far as making people "feel like we are all in this together" you've only succeeded in pissing off more of them who believe Obama should be leading by example.

United Press International (UPI) says security measures make it difficult to accurately determine the final cost to taxpayers, but the combined total is likely to exceed the $170 million dollar estimate which is more than what was spent on Obama's first Inauguration.

But Hey .... Sunday's private swearing in of Obama /jarrett as president was a bargain at a mere $1.25 million. Hooray for sensibility in the face of austerity !

Obama, the Art of the Lie .... not one dime!

Throughout the 2012 campaign Obama promised that if his tax increase proposals for the rich were enacted, the middle class, those earning less than $250 thousand a year, wouldn't see their taxes increase at all.

After claiming the election, even as late as December 8th Obama promised this:

"Right now, middle-class tax cuts are set to expire at the end of the year. Time is running out. And there are two things that can happen.

First, if Congress does nothing, every family in America will see their income taxes automatically go up on January 1st. A typical middle-class family of four would get a $2,200 tax hike. That would be bad for families, it would be bad for businesses, and it would drag down our entire economy.

Now, Congress can avoid all this by passing a law that prevents a tax hike on the first $250,000 of everybody's income. That means 98 percent of Americans and 97 percent of small businesses wouldn't see their income taxes go up by a single dime. Even the wealthiest Americans would get a tax cut on the first $250,000 of their income. And families everywhere would enjoy some peace of mind." - Obama speech

Well, Obama got what he wanted, almost all of it anyway, with the Senate passing a resolution in the 12th hour before adjournment but only after the House of Representatives had closed up shop for the year. Taxes on the rich for 2013 wouldn't kick in until $450 thousand of income but the tax breaks for those earning less than $250 thousand would be preserved - seemingly with no new taxes.

There was also a small item in the agreement that said Congress would not receive a fixed pay increase - after all, it probably wouldn't go down well at all with the public who pretty much uniformly despise the legislators - that they would be seen as rewarding themselves for such piss poor performance as they turned in as the 112th Congress!

If you're one of the middle class as defined by Obama, all this sounds really good - doesn't it?

Problem is this Obama campaign promise like all the rest, was and is bogus, and it's in the parsing of the language. Obama was referring to income taxes, all the while and knowing full well the average American would relate to it as no tax increases on any part of their incomes, payroll or otherwise. 

And, there was the matter of the payroll tax cut extension that Obama and the Congress did NOT address and right on schedule with the first of the year, automatically, middle class Americans saw their weekly payroll checks go down as their tribute to Uncle Sam went up.

Fox News ran a poll recently in which 60 % said their tax bite had increased since the beginning of the year.

So much for the Obama horseshit ! 

Actually, it is standard fare for politicians to lie, although Obama has perfected the ploy, since promises cost far, far less than the resources, energy, good will and political capital required to discharge the obligation - in this instance it helped him claim the Presidency with no consequence.

Unfortunately, a majority of the electorate seems unable to make the connection, retain the information, or not care when politicians fail to live up to their promises.

Another you may recall was the assurance that more than a trillion in stimulus spending, money we couldn't afford to spend, was required to provide sufficient numbers of new jobs to drive unemployment rates down under 8%. It didn't.

Or, how about his promise that under Obamacare insurance premiums would go down $2000 and that you wouldn't need to change your doctor or health care plan if you didn't want to - premiums instead went up $2000 and companies are choosing to pay the Obamacare penalties and drop their employee health insurance plans, while many doctors now refuse to treat medicare patients.

And now on the horizon Obama promises gun owners they don't need to be fearful about their Constitutional 2nd amendment rights for personal defense, sporting and hunting use of firearms. 

 With Obama's past voting record and body of speeches about gun control, Yeah right, nothing to be concerned about there.

At every turn Americans face an unending barrage of political manipulations and regulation that erode and compromise their freedoms, all the while being placated with hollow promises to the contrary by the politicians who claim to represent them.

Oh .... and the little item about no Congressional pay raise in the legislation ? On December 27th Obama signed an executive order with little fanfare or public attention authorizing on March 27th of this year a pay raise - described as a modest 0.5 % increase - for the jackasses in Congress. And since, by law, Congress can receive no raise greater than other federal employees all of the other public service employees working for the federal government will see an increase in their paychecks with your tax dollars. What seems insignificant now in reality suddenly and currently consumes nearly a billion dollars BUT more than 11 billion over the next ten years.... how about your paycheck ... what will you see Mr. & Mrs. Middleclass?

What Harry Reid Thinks of Americans …. You Stink!

No, literally, Harry Reid says you smell – at least those Americans he’s had occasion to come into contact with at the US Capitol before the visitor’s center was opened in 2008.

"My staff tells me not to say this, but I'm going to say it anyway," said Reid in his remarks. "In the summer because of the heat and high humidity, you could literally smell the tourists coming into the Capitol."

Any signs that Reid has since mellowed about his disdain for Mr. & Mrs. Joe America ? Not if you consider that the Senate majority leader has promised Senators that rather than going on public record with their votes - votes which could subsequently damage their future political “careers” - Reid has promised Democrats they won’t have to vote on “hard” issues. Meaning those problems that need urgent attention will not be dealt with in the US Senate if Reid determines the measures would be defeated by a Republican controlled House of Representatives anyway. 

Hey, just what we need with America in crisis - rather than provide bi-partisan leadership and solutions Reid wants to provide partisan political “cover”. 

He is the promoter and enabler of cowardice in the Senate at a time when Senators should be voting their convictions on the issues confronting the country.

Nor has Harry Reid lessened his disdain, if you believe the country should operate with a budget as required by law. 

Why do we need a federal budget anyway? Because the annual budget is the starting point and the best hope of bringing revenues and spending into balance for the year. And why is a balanced budget important ? It’s been estimated that our Gross Domestic Product (GDP) would be 3 to 6 % higher annually if our government operated within a balanced budget – and a growing GDP means a growing economy, jobs, and incomes. Not inconsequential issues in these “lean” times.

And because our leadership, Harry Reid in particular, but other politicians as well, don’t have the moral courage and character to deal with the issues of out of control spending forthrightly and due to their malfeasance, the cost to future generations is staggering – every American child at current deficit spending limits born after 2011 already owes more than $46,000 to our nation’s creditors – and that reprehensible, son of a bitch, Harry Reid knows it … understands it … and is one of the prime reasons for that calamity in the first place - having personally blocked passage of a federal budget for nearly 4 years.

For, you see, when a federal budget is not passed the government continues to remain open, do business, and pay bills by passing a series of “appropriations bills" – and guess what gets stuck onto those? Yep, they’re salted with “pork barrel spending” items that usually amount to some sort of political payoff with taxpayer dollars. The fingers and palms in Congress are well-greased.

And guess who the most obscene “porker” both for himself and his party is in the Congress ? – you got it ….HARRY REID !!!

So, America … Not only does Harry Reid think you stink …. he also believes that you’re too ignorant to give a damn about whether he and his buddies keep on robbing you blind.

And one last little stab of salt for the wound – Obama /jarrett recently signed an executive order giving Reid and the rest of Congress raises effective March 27th as a reward to a do-nothing group of legislators. Meanwhile because of increased payroll taxes, you, in the private sector will likely experience a reduction in your paycheck, while the average member of Congress will see a rise in their incomes of about $900 - with, of course, Harry Reid’s slice of the plum pie being larger. Additionally, because, by law Congress can’t raise its own pay more than that of other federal workers, everyone else working for the government will see larger paychecks too. About a billion tax dollars now and over 11 billion for the next 10 years.

This, if you weren't aware .... is a dangerous weapon .... at least according to school administrators at White Marsh Elementary School in Talbot County, Maryland where two 6 year old boys were suspended for playing "cops and robbers" at recess with unlicensed and unregistered fingers - God only knows - that a tragedy in the making was averted since there was no telling whether or not the fingers were "actually" loaded and might have discharged accidentally during the reckless horseplay.

Wait .... it gets better. Somewhat earlier at another Maryland school, Roscoe P. Nix Elementary in Silver Spring, a 6 year old boy was suspended there for actually having used his "finger" gun at recess by saying "POW !".

In the aftermath of the incidents and investigations antigun forces nationwide are screaming for more strident laws and funding for new mandatory, parental behavior modification re-education programs and finger registration schemes to prevent similar incidents in the future.

Really, haven't you had enough of nitwits who occupy positions of responsibility? Isn't it time to show that stupid behavior has consequence .... it's not the students who need to be suspended !

Inmates using newspaper's gun owner map to threaten guards, sheriff says

 "Rockland County Sheriff Louis Falco, who spoke at a news conference flanked by other county officials, said the Journal News' decision to post an online map of names and addresses of handgun owners Dec. 23 has put law enforcement officers in danger.", reports FOX News.

"They have inmates coming up to them and telling them exactly where they live. That's not acceptable to me," Falco said ...Robert Riley, an officer with the White Plains Police Department and president of its Patrolman’s Benevolent Association, agreed. 

"You have guys who work in New York City who live up here. Now their names and addresses are out there, too," he said adding that there are 8,000 active and retired NYPD officers currently living in Rockland County."

Wednesday, January 9th - Although New York State already has some of the most restrictive gun laws in the nation, Governor Andrew Cuomo called for state legislators to pass the nation's strictest gun control law banning assault weapons and high capacity magazines. In a passionate rant explaining why the measure was needed to "stop the madness", Cuomo pointed out that "no one needs ten bullets to kill a deer...".

All too often politicians frame the issue of gun control as purely a matter of "public safety" while other agendas and issues are left unrevealed and unspoken.
