Whose incompetent leadership is to blame if ISIS attacks the US and there are American casualties all over the ground ?

ONE GUESS !

Passengers and Crew of MH370 Murdered ???

News agencies report that the focus of the investigation into the missing Boeing 777 airplane Malaysian Airlines MH370 has now shifted to determining whether or not the plane was deliberately diverted from its intended flight path and flown to some unknown location for some as yet unknown purpose.

Some of the facts now known about the flight such as its transponder having been turned off, indications that the plane continued to fly at length at altitude afterwards and other satellite data indicating flight path have all contributed to the shift in focus.

One element reported was a curious profile in change of altitude with the plane climbing to its maximum operating ceiling above 50,000 feet above sea level and then returning to lower operating altitudes.

If equipment malfunction is ruled out, which apparently has been the case in the view of the investigating agencies, then what purpose would it serve hijackers to take the plane above 50,000 feet ?

Pilots are familiar with hypoxia - the loss of consciousness due to insufficient oxygen at altitude. Hypoxia is one of the dangers of operating aircraft above 14,000 ft. If oxygen isn't restored in time the condition becomes fatal.

The ability of a person to function with hypoxia for any length of time is related to the altitude and called Time of Useful Consciousness or TUC - at 35,000 useful consciousness is about 30 to 60 seconds - above 50,000 feet a person will become unconscious in 6 to 9 seconds !

Are the passengers and most of the crew already dead ?

Unfortunately, I can think of only one reason that hijackers would risk taking a plane above 50,000 feet while carrying several hundred passengers who could potentially interfere with a hijacking in progress - and that would be to immediately disable them.

Obama's Stewardship, the cost of Obamacare .... Really ? You're Surprised ?

Obama and his administration have never been forthcoming about the actual costs of the most visible manifestation of the Obamacare debacle – a failed and as yet not fully functional website. The best available information put the cost of failure at around 677 million dollars – but as with most government disclosures, particularly embarrassing ones, you can expect that the all in costs will be more than 100 % higher than reported by the Obama administration.

And now, Golly Gee  …. From the Americans for Tax Reform (ATR) watchdog group comes a report that itemizes and details all of the money spent by the Obama administration on the Obamacare implementation so far, including state aid, at more than 4.4 billion dollars !

 Isn’t our government just absolutely fantastic in returning value to us for our taxes ? I mean, My Gawd,  what A bargain !   What A Bargain !    WHAT A BARGAIN !!!  …. at only 4.4 billion dollars, really you know, we just don’t deserve to be this fortunate under Obama’s stewardship.

Because under Roosevelt’s, World War II cost us about 341,000,000  billion or about 700,000,000 billion in today’s dollars – wait a minute, wait a minute, isn’t that what we spent to bail out Wall Street bankers just a few years ago ? (actually it went over 1.2 trillion when the smoke finally cleared but who’s gonna quibble about 500,000,000 billion dollars here and there ?).

BUT then MAYBE some other perspective IS in order about Obamacare –

 This one for instance is currently making the internet rounds but obviously was sent in by some malcontent or other senior citizen type who surely has it “in” for Obama – no doubt he’s some white conservative dude who spends all of his time watching Fox News, is mentally impaired more or less and is probably a bigot to boot … Yeah, no doubt !

No, but they’ve made stealing and lying about it to the American people into an art form and just imagine how much fun you’re going to have when you actually try to get some of that good ole’ Obamacare in the future anyway …..

Obama Flirts at Funeral .... and Winter Freeze Settles In

During Mandela's funeral service in South Africa, in front of 91 other world leaders, Obama is caught on camera flirting with the sexy blonde, and leggy Prime Minister of Denmark while Michelle Obama flashes daggers.

Described in press coverage as having lost his dignity during the proceedings and acting "like a hormone-ravaged frat boy on a road trip to a strip bar.", may have been too harsh a condemnation of Obama's behavior and poor judgment .... but then perhaps not ....

Obama can't or won't control himself until Michelle finally steps in, the seating changes and Barack' s feeling the heat .... but no longer from Helle Thorning-Schmidt !!!

Latest word is that a deep winter freeze has settled over the family's Whitehouse living quarters with Michelle moving to a separate bedroom while Obama's poll numbers continue to decline - Hey, Go figure ....

You Can Find Good Stuff Everywhere You Look .... Sort of

Even in the face of life's disappointments, large and small, I'm convinced you can still find good stuff whenever you look for it .... well, sort of.

Over the Holidays my wife pointed out to me that most of America's families are "dysfunctional in some manner or other".

Indeed, I recall reading mainstream news articles a few years ago that loudly proclaimed that at least 67 percent of American families were dysfunctional.

So during all of the Holiday stress .... Take heart dysfunctional American families .... we're a majority and consequently all "normal" (again) !

Obama Chose Bronze .... Big Deal !

Barack Obama yesterday on the last day for enrollments through the Washington DC health insurance exchange registered and selected a "Bronze" health insurance plan - the lowest featured plan available with a monthly premium cost of $400.

The White House was quick to point out that though Obama will pay the premium each month this was only a symbolic gesture on his part in that he and his family receive and will continue to receive their medical care through the US Military at taxpayer expense not through the private insurance plan he's just purchased.

Ok ... it's symbolic of what ?

That he's in the same "boat" as the rest of us due to the Obamacare burdens, including forthcoming cost increases, job losses, poor delivery of health care services due to provider shortages, and long queues to get those services ?

Only I guess if you naively believe that privileged and politically connected people won't get favorable access and consideration and assistance ahead of you and me.

That the government mandated private health insurance plans are good enough for all of us including Obama ?

Got  news for you - the US government in no way believes that a Bronze or any other private insurance product is adequate or sufficient to protect the health of Obama or his family. It's not going to happen. Period.

That Obama is going to spend $400 each month on something useless and of no practical value since he won't utilize it anyway ?

 Well, yeah ..... that IS pretty much symbolic of his entire administration isn't it as he and his cohorts continue to drain and piss away the taxes of US taxpayers.

Christmas Wish List Laments .... my favorite power tool

Always felt that the perfect Christmas gift for anyone who enjoys shooting is a box of ammunition, as opposed to ... oh,  I don't know just off the top of my head - another tie or sweater.

Tried to get that across over the years (unsuccessfully) to the non-shooting females in my family that they don't need to "know" anything about either firearms or ammo (which they don't) - just go into any sporting goods store and buy any box, brand, quantity or type of ammo - it can be rimfire, handgun, rifle, shotgun shells, big magnums, tiny 22 long rifles, whatever - it doesn't matter - you don't even need to gift wrap it - it's still the perfect gift for me.

Why?

Because if I have a gun that shoots it, I will, and have a blast all the while it lasts AND if I don't own a gun that does, it's the perfect excuse for me to go out and buy one that will !

Pelosi, Obama, Reid (POR) Affordable Boat Act …

Nancy Pelosi, Barack Obama, and Harry Reid have just passed a new law called: "The P.O.R. Affordable Boat Act" declaring that every citizen MUST purchase a new boat, by April 2014.

Discussions of the Bill were kept secret from the public and the Republican caucus of Congress. The vote for passage was along party lines with all DemocRATS voting in favor and all Republicans voting in opposition.

Barack Obama said that the Republicans, being the Party of Nope, clearly can’t see the advantages of affordable boat ownership for ALL Americans and would just as clearly have been obstructionists throughout the legislative process had they been allowed to participate. “I welcome good ideas about affordable boat ownership from anyone, including Republicans, but they have none (good ideas).!”, he added.

These "affordable" boats are available in Bronze, Silver, or Gold versions and will range in price from $50,000 - $125,000 - $350,000 respectively. The price does not include taxes, trailers, towing fees, licensing and registration fees, fuel, docking and storage fees, maintenance or repair costs.

Nancy Pelosi, minority leader of the House of Representatives, said, “This law has been passed, because until now, only wealthy and financially responsible people have been able to purchase boats. This new law ensures that every American can now have an "affordable" boat of their own, because everyone is "entitled" to a new boat.”.

Though the costs of owning a boat will increase on average of 250% - 500% per year principally because of new taxes to be imposed and due to the limited number of Marinas and Docks, it is important that all Americans purchase boats in order to keep the long term future rate of cost increases of new boats under control.   Subsidies of tax dollars will be available to those who presently can’t afford to buy “affordable” boats IF their incomes fall below certain levels. To offset these subsidies new taxes will be imposed upon the wealthy. In this way, wealthy people will pay more for something that other people don't want or can't afford to maintain. 

In a bid to court political support from young voters the law has provisions that permit children up to the age of 26 to be able to use their parent’s boats – but by their 27th birthday they must purchase new boats for themselves.

Obama in an earlier speech promised, "... if you already have a boat, you can keep yours as well as your present Marina or favorite dock, period!". White House staffers quickly issued a press release saying that what Obama meant to say was that if you already own a boat you can keep it or your favorite Marina or dock provided they meet under the new law all government standards, which have yet either to be formulated or disclosed.

If you don't want or don't need a boat, you are required to buy one anyway.  If you refuse to buy one or can't afford one, you will be fined $800 annually until you purchase one or face imprisonment.

Failure to use the boat will also result in fines. People living in the desert; ghettos; inner cities or areas with no access to lakes or other navigable waterways are not exempt. Age, motion sickness, experience, knowledge nor lack of desire to own a new boat are not acceptable excuses for not using your boat.

A government review board comprised of members who aren’t required to know the difference between the port, starboard or stern of a boat or boating in general will decide everything, including when, where, how often and for what purposes you can use your boat along with how many people may ride in your boat and determine if any individual is too old or unhealthy enough to be able to use a boat. They will also decide if your boat has outlived its usefulness or if you must purchase specific accessories or a newer and more expensive boat.

Those that can afford yachts will be required to purchase them. However these “Platinum” versions, though no longer optional for wealthy individuals, will also carry a much higher excise tax because they are “luxury” versions.

The government will also decide the name for each boat.

Failure to comply with these rules will result in fines and possible imprisonment.

It should be noted that all federal officials, politicians, and many federal employees are exempt from this new law. If they want a boat, they and their families can obtain boats free from government warehouses, at the expense of tax payers. Large Labor Unions, Financial Companies and mega Corporations that have previously contributed to the DemocRATic  Party are also exempt if they go through the formality of applying for exempt status.

Asked to comment on the new law, Harry Reid, Senate Majority Leader and the largest Pork Barrel spending hog in the Congress said, “Affordable Boats has until now been just a dream of progressives everywhere for 100 years. You know, I just love America” ….

For 2012 the IRS sent to identity thieves over 4 billion dollars in fraudulent refund checks from taxpayer treasury - many of the checks went to foreigners who, GOLLY GEE, by definition were located in other countries.

If we were going to piss away 4 billion ANYWAY.... wouldn't it have been better for Americans to have pissed it away on, say .... Detroit ?   You know .... a city WHERE other Americans live !

I'm jes saying makes no sense to me that with waste like this IRS mess, Nancy Pelosi can claim with a straight, though surgically altered, face that the "cupboard is bare" and that's why she, Obama, Harry Reid, and the rest of the DemocRATS keep shoving their hands into my pockets for even more of my hard earned dollars for their half assed spending programs - while they leave Detroit abandoned - and can happily send our money instead to crooks overseas without even a second thought about who's actually paying for it and what it cost us.

It's a species of yeast and found among plants, soil and air; a pathogenic fungus called Cryptococcus gattii. Still no help ?

Well, if you live on Vancouver Island in British Columbia and you have the great misfortune to accidentally inhale this little nasty or its spores, and it grows within you, your chances of dying as a result are about 1 in 3 especially if you have a compromised immune system due to diabetes, kidney or heart disease.

What's worrying is C. gattii can survive in freshwater. It can survive in saltwater. It can survive in the air. It can survive in dried out soil for years. It is everywhere and it is unstoppable.

It's not real clear what C. gattii's origins are and there are varieties not all of which are as deadly as the VGIIa and VGIIc strains - or how long it's been around in Vancouver.

What is real clear though is it is a serious emerging disease threat and that C. gattii thrives in warmer, dryer weather.

And it's moving steadily south into the US.

Unfortunately, we and yeasts are close biological relatives, so to speak ... as such there are so many commonalities between their cells and our own that it is very difficult to find drugs that can kill yeast cells without killing our own.

And here's the kicker, drug companies aren't racing to find new anti fungal drugs because in part of the high costs associated with the regulations imposed by Congress on the drug companies.

Live in Florida ? Look for C. gattii coming in less than 10 years to a neighborhood near you. It will be elsewhere throughout the country much earlier.

The Obama Administration .... Really, You're Surprised ?

A few days ago the Obama Administration announced that it failed to do in-depth background checks and may have allowed dozens of Al Qaeda bomb making terrorists – responsible for the deaths of US Military and civilians – into the US and re-settled here throughout the country at taxpayer expense as “war refugees.”

The disclosure is only being revealed now fully 2 years after the arrest of two Al Qaeda operatives in Kentucky in 2011 – and critics are asking “Why the screwup and delay in announcing it?”.

More importantly though, the FBI has launched several counter intelligence operations to determine how many “war refugees” may be Al Qaeda operatives and where they might be since the US has sorta’ lost track of them.
