In Westchester and Rockland Counties, NY there’s a big brouhaha brewing in the wake of the Stony Hook school massacre of innocent children by a madman – The Journal News in Whiteplains, NY decided it was their civic responsibility to their readership (and everyone else in the world) to publish the names and addresses in an online, interactive map of those residents legally holding state gun permits.

Ostensibly because you, dear reader, might just want to know who the potentially, but not proven, dangerous people are who reside in your neighborhood because they are legally entitled to possess a handgun under New York state law.

To a thoughtful person it might just occur … what in the world does any of that have to do with preventing another madman’s murderous rampage, but of course, to a thoughtless person like me – I say, “Damnit, it doesn’t begin to go FAR enough !”

I want interactive, online maps showing me the other potentially, and in many cases proven, dangerous people living all across this country securely in their homes to be outed by newspapers everywhere publishing their names and showing me exactly where they live.

Lawyers – as Shakespeare reminded us in HENRY VI as to how truly dangerous the entire lot are, “The first thing we do, let’s kill all the lawyers.”

Doctors – because they routinely distribute and administer potent and dangerous substances; many regulated by DEA; and pursue activities that all too often result in wrongful death and injury.

Bankers – for having the power to unleash, which they do regularly in 10 year intervals, weapons of financial mass destruction.

Economists – for no other reason than they’re always wrong.

Newspeople and Journalists – for their dangerous opinions, half truths, obfuscations and outright lies.

IRS Agents – no explanation needed there.

Law Enforcement – including Cops, District Attorneys, Prosecutors, Justices, Prison Guards – for routinely violating the laws they swore to uphold.

Captains of Industry – because everyone knows all the world’s evils can be traced back to their doorsteps.

The Rich - because President Obama /jarrett have said they are unpatriotic and greedy.

School Teachers, University Professors, Administrators – for packaging socialism as progressivism and polluting young minds with it.

Dry Cleaners, Commercial Printers and Fine Artists – for routinely violating EPA standards for the misuse and release of hazardous chemicals and materials into the environment.

Real Estate Brokers, Shoe Salesmen, and Used Car Dealers – for being the lousy and sleazy bunch of crooks they are.

And finally, the most dangerous and destructive group of people in all of America …

The Politicians !!!

Inmates using newspaper's gun owner map to threaten guards, sheriff says
"Rockland County Sheriff Louis Falco, who spoke at a news conference flanked by other county officials, said the Journal News' decision to post an online map of names and addresses of handgun owners Dec. 23 has put law enforcement officers in danger.", reports FOX News."

"They have inmates coming up to them and telling them exactly where they live. That's not acceptable to me," Falco said ...Robert Riley, an officer with the White Plains Police Department and president of its Patrolman’s Benevolent Association, agreed.

"You have guys who work in New York City who live up here. Now their names and addresses are out there, too," he said adding that there are 8,000 active and retired NYPD officers currently living in Rockland County."

“That was the most asinine article I’ve ever seen,” former burglar and jewel thief Walter T. Shaw said. “Having a list of who has a gun is like gold – why rob that house when you can hit the one next door, where there are no guns?”

And here's Frank Abagnale's, arguably history's most famous burglar, take on the matter:

"It is unbelievable that a newspaper or so called journalist would publish the names and addresses of legal gun owners, including federal agents, law enforcement officers and the like,” said Abagnale, who noted that he grew up in the suburban New York area served by the Journal-News. “This would be equivalent to publishing the names of individuals who keep substantial sums of money, jewelry and valuables in their home.”

Unintended consequences ??? ... only because the editors, hell bent on an anti-gun crusade at the Journal News, are lacking in both understanding and imagination. You tell me.
